Dr. Danielle E. Mendez-Vicari

Veterinarian - Practice Owner

Dr. Danielle was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, and graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from SUNY Geneseo before going on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.

​

She focuses on building strong relationships with both patients and their families, and believes that thoughtful, individualized care leads to the best outcomes. Dr. Danielle works closely with clients to develop plans that are both medically sound and realistic, with an emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making.

​

As the owner of Lake Ontario Veterinary Clinic, she is equally committed to supporting her team and fostering a collaborative, respectful environment where staff and clients feel heard and valued.

​

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Danielle is a wife and mother of two, and a proud pet mom to three dogs and a Siamese cat. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being outdoors—though she’ll be the first to admit she has an irrational fear of bees.

Dr. Stephanie M. Ruback

Veterinarian

Dr. Ruback grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish from SUNY Geneseo. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 2016. Upon finishing vet school, she moved to Oswego and has been living there since. After working as a small animal veterinarian in the Syracuse area, she decided to make the transition closer to home and is excited to be providing care to the animals in the Oswego area. She values the human animal bond and ensuring that animals receive the highest standard of care. She is Fear Free Certified with interests in preventative medicine, surgery, and end of life/palliative care. 

 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. You can find her outside in the summer gardening, fishing, walking the dogs all year round and cheering on the Buffalo Bills!

Veterinarian

Dr. Peyton Mackey will be joining our team in June 2026!

Rhonda H.

Licensed Veterinary Technician - Clinical Supervisor

Rhonda is a lifelong resident of Oswego County with a strong background in animal care. She earned a degree in Equine Studies/Stable and Farm Management from Cazenovia College and, after discovering her passion for veterinary technology, pursued a second degree in Veterinary Science Technology from San Juan College. Rhonda became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2013.

With a particular interest in reproduction and neonatal care, Rhonda is dedicated to providing specialized care for both animals and their owners.

 

Outside of work, she enjoys raising and showing American Bullies with her family. Her animal family also includes Kune-kune pigs and two cats, reflecting her love for all things furry and four-legged.

Allison V.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Allison was born in Florida and raised in Copenhagen, NY. She graduated from SUNY Delhi’s Veterinary Technician program in May 2023 and became licensed in July 2023. Growing up on a family farm, she always knew she wanted to work in veterinary care. While she initially aimed to work with large animals, an internship in college led her to pursue a career with small animals.

 

Allison is currently a fur mom to a basset hound named Bojangles, a shepherd/hound mix name Sequoia, and a cat named Oakleigh. She has also cared for a rabbit and a hedgehog over the years. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, watching movies, and cleaning.

Lexi L. 

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Lexi has called Oswego, NY home her entire life. She graduated from SUNY Delhi in May 2023 with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Science Technology and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in July 2023. Before pursuing her LVT certification, Lexi worked as a veterinary assistant at a local clinic, which deepened her passion for veterinary medicine.

 

Lexi is the proud fur mom of 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 horses, a rabbit, and a chinchilla! Outside of work, Lexi is an avid outdoors enthusiast. She enjoys campfires with friends and trail rides with her horses, making the most of her time in nature.

Mackenzi L.

Veterinary Assistant

Mackenzi (Kenzi) is a lifelong Oswego County resident with a deep passion for animals. Before joining the team at Lake Ontario Veterinary Clinic, Kenzi owned and operated her own grooming business for four years and has been grooming professionally for much longer. When Kenzi joined our team, she was new to the veterinary field, but she quickly fell in love and is excited to grow in her new position.

​

At home, Kenzi shares her life with a beloved dog and cat—though she’d happily welcome every pet in need if she could! Outside of work, she’s an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping with family and friends, especially her two young sons, Carter and Cooper. Her favorite camping spots are those with a lazy river, perfect for unwinding and relaxing. Kenzi also loves riding ATVs and making lasting memories with friends.

Krysta T.

Receptionist - Office Manager

Krysta relocated from Connecticut to Oswego County in 2013 and has since become a dedicated member of the veterinary field as a receptionist. Before transitioning to veterinary medicine, Krysta managed a large equine eventing facility, where she developed her strong passion for animals.

​

Krysta and her husband, along with their children, run a small farm that is home to a variety of animals, including three dogs and five cats. She’s also an avid maker of goat milk cheese, and loves spending time gardening and creating beautiful floral arrangements. If you spot any plants, flowers, or floral-themed decor at Lake Ontario Veterinary Clinic, there's a good chance they were lovingly provided by Krysta!
